NXP launches i.MX RT106F-based local face recognition solution

Abstract: NXP MCU level face recognition solution can add face recognition function to IoT products more quickly. The solution provides hardware reference design and software integration services with outstanding advantages, which is convenient for rapid evaluation and verification development, and meets the application needs of face recognition in various industries.

The NXP MCU-level face recognition solution is implemented using the i.MX RT106F, enabling developers to easily and conveniently add face recognition functionality to their MCU-based IoT products. This ultra-small, integrated software algorithm and hardware solution , which facilitates rapid evaluation and proof-of-concept development for developers. The SLN-VIZN-IOT development kit can create your own facial models offline without the need for cloud connectivity, reducing overall cost and design complexity.

This solution minimizes time to market, reduces risk, and reduces development effort, making it easier for many OEMs to add facial recognition capabilities, providing advanced user interfaces for smart homes, smart appliances, smart toys, and smart industries and access control features without the need for Wi-Fi and cloud connectivity, addressing many consumer privacy concerns

The i.MX RT106F is a member of the i.MX RT1060 series and will be mass-produced in April 2020, mainly for low-cost face recognition applications.
